Country star Jelly Roll, also known as Jason DeFord, revealed that he shed between 50 to 70 pounds while preparing for his first 5K race. 

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight after completing the 2 Bears 5K in Los Angeles, Jelly Roll expressed his surprise at the significant weight loss and noted the emotional journey it had been for him.

Emotional Finish Line Moment: 

Jelly Roll recounted feeling “really emotional” as he approached the race’s finish line, which was hosted by comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer as part of the Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival.

Starting his fitness journey in January, Jelly Roll reflected on his progress, from struggling to walk a mile to completing a 3.1-mile race.

Challenges and Triumphs: 

Despite finding the race tougher than expected, Jelly Roll expressed his sense of accomplishment and motivation. 

He highlighted the support and camaraderie among participants, particularly noting the inspiration he drew from fellow “big guys” completing the race alongside him.
