A United Airlines flight from Tel Aviv and bound for Newark Airport was diverted to Stewart International Airport in New York on Friday due to unfavorable weather, including high winds and turbulence.

The flight, operated by United Airlines, decided to land at Stewart International Airport instead of proceeding to Newark as planned, citing rough weather as the primary reason for the diversion.

Response and Evaluation of Passengers:

First responders from multiple agencies, coordinated by Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus’s office, attended to the approximately 200 passengers upon arrival at Stewart International Airport. Some passengers were transported to local hospitals for evaluation, while others were later returned to Newark Airport.

Neuhaus expressed gratitude to the first responders for their swift and professional assistance during the challenging situation. He emphasized the responders’ collaborative efforts in alleviating stress and ensuring the safety of all passengers.

Updates on Passengers’ Conditions:

According to United Airlines, one passenger disembarked due to a medical incident, and several others received medical attention from onboard personnel for symptoms of motion sickness. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported among the passengers.

Following the necessary procedures, including refueling, the United Airlines flight resumed its journey and completed its trip to Newark Airport, allowing passengers to reach their intended destination.
