With the April 8 total solar eclipse drawing closer, Texas emerges as the most sought-after state in the nation for witnessing this celestial phenomenon.
The path of totality traverses North and Central Texas, promising two to four minutes of complete darkness around midday. Consequently, solar eclipse events are already cropping across Fort Worth, heightening anticipation for the rare spectacle.
Airbnb Report Reveals Surge in Bookings:
In a recent report, Airbnb, a prominent player in the short-term rental market, disclosed that Texas leads in bookings for accommodations ahead of the solar eclipse.
The company noted a staggering 1,000% surge in search traffic on its website for lodging in towns and cities along the path of totality, with Texas being the focal point of this surge.
Substantial bookings have been made through Airbnb in popular destinations in Texas, including Austin, Dallas, Houston, Waco, Fredericksburg, and Hill County.
Availability and Alternative Destinations:
While many Texas listings on Airbnb are already booked, approximately 40% of rentals along the path of totality remain available.
Other cities, such as Cleveland, Indianapolis, Buffalo, and Little Rock, have also emerged as popular rental destinations during the eclipse weekend.
