A male identified by a German court as Troy B attacked two American females near a tourist place in June.
Crime at Neuschwanstein Castle:
A German court has handed down a life sentence to an American man, Troy B, for the rape and murder of a tourist near Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria.
The incident occurred in June and gained international attention due to the large number of visitors present at the famous tourist site.
Attack Details:
Troy B, a 31-year-old tourist from Michigan, befriended two American women near the Maria Bridge, a popular spot offering scenic views of the castle.
He lured them away from the public path under the pretext of a better vantage point, where he proceeded to throttle and rape the 21-year-old victim. When her 22-year-old friend attempted to intervene, Troy B threw her down a 100-meter ravine, causing severe injuries.

Fatal Outcome:
After raping the first woman, Troy B threw her over the ledge as well, resulting in her death in the hospital hours later.
The court determined that the strangulation alone would have been lethal. Prosecutors discovered violent pornography on Troy B’s phone, including footage of him strangling the victim with his belt.
Legal Proceedings:
During the trial at the court in Kempten, southern Germany, the prosecutor described Troy B’s actions as treating the victim as an object. The judge sentenced him to life imprisonment, citing the “particular gravity” of the crime, which precludes automatic parole after 15 years, typical for non-aggravated murder cases.
Judicial Outcome:
While Troy B did not dispute the charge of murdering the 21-year-old victim, he sought to avoid a finding of aggravated murder. However, the severity of his actions led to the court’s decision to impose the maximum penalty.
